Sally Legg

Sally is a registered Clinical Arts Therapist with a passion for working in the area of disability. She currently works at Focus 2000, service provider for the Cerebral Palsy Society, as well as at Spark Studio, a visual arts studio and creative space for people with a wide range of disabilities. Alongside this, Sally runs a community Art Therapy group at Raeburn House, and was also recently involved in developing a Snoezelen Room (multi-sensory therapeutic environment) at the Mason Clinic's new unit for intellectually disabled offenders. She completed her Master of Arts in Arts Therapy (Clinical) at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design (Auckland), and focused her research on the benefits of Creative Arts Therapy for this client group. These studies were a progression of her work in Mental Health as a Recovery and Rehabilitation Practitioner and in Transitional Community Support. Sally has also worked with young offenders and has an ongoing interest in introducing Arts Therapy into forensic settings.
