WuTao Dance
DANCE YOUR WAY TO HEALTH, FITNESS AND VITALITY
In todays busy lifestyle, one is always looking for a way to maintain health and well-being. WuTao is a revolutionary aproach to balance and vitality. Similar to yoga and Pilates, WuTao , not only enhances physical fitness, but also has strong healing and theraputic effects on reducing stress.
WuTao - or the dancing way - has its foundations in Oriental Medicine and has a holistic philosophy that restores balance on all levels: physically, mentally and spritually. WuTao brings the divine elements of spirit and body together by a series of five dances, one for each of the elements, Air, Water, Wood, Fire & Earth. In Oriental medicine, each element governs a pair of meridians, which are the pathways through which the Qi (our bodies energy) flows. The meridians are named after organs, eg: for the lung and large intestine meridians, which belong to the air element, the air dance is performed. The purpose in doing the dances is to be able to surrender fully into the life-force - the vital energy that carries us through life on earth. The dances will give you an experience of balance and centredness, gently stimulating and opening the meridians and enabling your energy to flow smoothly.
Bringing the WuTao dances together with not only the five dances, but also specialised meditations and art therapy, which is processed after each of the elements has been covered during the classes, allows for a full and rich experience of who you truly are at the core of your being enabling you to create a calm space within your soul. WuTao is very gentle on the body, thus it is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness, and no previous dance experience is necessary.
Weekly Classes are held in Taupo - Beginners & Advanced. For further information, Contact Tonia Wright (licenced WuTao Instructor) on 07 376 7077 or 027 4724727.
